SCUK’s fund raising challenge for 2008.
This year the club is backing an effort to raise £10,000 towards research and treatment of Head and Neck cancer at the Royal Surrey & St. Luke’s Hospital cancer centre. This is where Trent Holmes (AKA Trigger) had major surgery and radiotherapy for mouth and neck cancer last year.
There is going to be an Iron Butt ride on June 21st/22nd; starting and finishing at St Luke’s Cancer centre in Guildford. By the time the riders get back they will have been to Perth, via Birmingham, Newcastle and Edinburgh and back via Glasgow, Manchester and Bristol, over 1,000 miles (or 1,600Km) in 24 hours.
The list of crazies who have already said they will take part is: Alan Melham, John Hedger, Trent Holmes, Jan Holmes, Andy Dubé, Vic Walker, Bill Jones, Steve Whitmore, Brian Thomas, David Kim and George Gordon......(expect the list to grow)
