5th to 8th June

Gastronomique Honfleur

Organisers Rob & Mel Every

On the anniversary of Operation Overlord we will ride to Pegasus Bridge and visit the new museum and have coffee at the famous café Gondree, the first house liberated and still owned by the same family. We will ride to Arromanches, the site of the Mulberry Harbours and latter visit Bayeux where Charles de Gaulle established his first government. There will also be time to visit the famous Tapestry.

The next full day will see us riding to some of the D Day Landing Beaches as we make our way to St Mere Eglise, a small village were the American Rangers parachuted in on the 6th June made famous by the film ‘The Longest Day’. Evenings will be spent in one of the many restaurants around Honfleur.

The approximate cost including the Newhaven to Dieppe ferry should be in the region of £250 for two persons including three nights B&B but not evening meal.
