Bath - and the stunning countryside surrounding it - is one of England's most beautiful places to visit and unsurprisingly, is classified as a World Heritage Site Bath’s hot springs, Roman Baths the splendid Abbey and Georgian stone crescents have attracted visitors for centuries.
And this year it’s going to attracting a whole heap of SCUK members too!
Departing Surrey late Friday afternoon, we’ll make our way towards the West Country,
arriving in Bath in time for dinner, which will be taken in our weekend base – the recently refurbished Menzies Waterside Hotel.
Saturday is free for you to explore the city - perhaps take in an open-top bus tour, visit the famous Roman baths, Bath Abbey, the Thermal Spa (one for the girls apparently!!), the Jane Austen centre, the Pulteney Bridge / Weir - or simply get some retail therapy done in the old city.
For those that wish to get out on their bikes again, I’ll lead a short (local) ride sometime during the course of the day (details later) and to round the day off, we’ll take Saturday dinner at a local restaurant in the city (about a five minute walk).
