The Italianate Fantasy Village built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis which also was the backdrop for the sixties cult television series "The Prisoner"
Friday 18th July
Meet at The Star Chessington at 08:30 for a 09:00 departure. It is a 250 mile journey to North West Wales which initially will take us on motorways for 85 miles before we traverse cross country on some lovely riding roads through mid Wales.
As it is a fairly long ride we are planning with a short “technical rest” to stretch our legs after 1 hour, then a coffee break and petrol before stopping for lunch around 13:30. Final stretch including coffee and petrol before arriving at 17:00.
Plas Dolmelynllyn Country Hotel, Ganllwyd, Dolgellau within the Snowdonia National Park will be our base for the
weekend. (Subject to confirmation of cost and reccie in January.) We should arrive just in time for a freshen up and refreshments before dinner at the Hotel.
Saturday 19th July
After a casual breakfast we will saddle up and ride the scenic route onwards to Portmeirion village. Ample time to explore the Village and the surrounding countryside, with a leisurely cruise around Snowdonia National Park before returning to the hotel.
Dinner Saturday at the Castell Deudraeth Bar & Grill in Portmeirion Village.
