St Georges en France

A two night trip to celebrate St George's Day, but in Le Touquet, France and who

better to lead you there than our own St Grumpy George.

This event is excellent as a first Harley trip abroad as well as for more seasoned

riders. With ample coffee and lunch stops.

Brief description of places we will visit:

Friday 25th meet at Clacketts Lane services 7.45 am for 8.00am prompt departure.

(Full Tanks Please)

Berck-Sur-Mer  (Lunch Stop Friday):

Beautiful long sandy beach, stroll along the esplanade, plenty of restaurants
along the front for an excellent choice of fresh seafood, moules and frites etc.

Le Touquet (Two nights Stay):

We will stay at the comfortable Hotel Novotel Thalassa Le Touquet (with secure parking) within short walking distance of the sea front, town, bars & restaurants, including some expensive shops for the Ladies!

Saturday 26th  Ride-out Le Crotoy Option 1

11.00am Depart Le Touquet for a blast along the D940 for the best of what French coastal roads have to offer....Target Le Crotoy for arrival around 12.30.

Le Crotoy is a seaside village with a small harbour at the Somme estuary where, (when the tides out), the sandy beach seems to stretch out for miles. As this is a fishing boat harbour you can expect a fish restaurant and there are several to choose from for lunch.

After lunch and a stroll to walk off the excesses we shall depart Le Crotoy at around 3pm and aim to be back at our hotel for about 4 ish

Saturday 26th  Option 2

A day in the Hotel, shopping, swimming or as you please.

Or once again eat strawberries and drink Champagne on the beach.

Sunday 27th  10.30 am depart for Coffee Stop

Montreuil – Sur – Mer  Pretty walled town some 10 miles inland from Le Touquet with cobbled streets and superb views from the towns ramparts, where Victor Hugo was inspired to write ‘Les Miserables’!, Chocolate shop L’Atelier du gout and fine wine shops.

Wimeraux (Sunday Lunch Stop):

Wimeraux was an Edwardian sea-side resort which still has the old bathing huts.
Stroll along the esplanade where there a few restaurants and more tucked away
in the back side streets.

For those more adventurous, the town is some 15 minutes walk back from the front.
